How We Work Together
My coaching approach is rooted in both modern science and ancient wisdom traditions.
This work is holistic - honoring your body, mind, spirit, and relationships as interconnected dimensions of your whole self.
Together, we'll create a path that honors your unique experience, values, and desires.
The Foundation: Safety and Trust
Before we dive into practices or explore vulnerable territory, we build a foundation of safety and trust. This is sacred work, and it requires a container that feels solid and supportive. I bring my training as a nurse and midwife to this - I know how to hold space for people during their most tender moments. Together we can create an environment where healing becomes possible.
You set the pace. You decide what feels right to explore and when. My role is to walk alongside you, offering tools, perspective, and support as you reconnect with your own innate wisdom and capacity.
Understanding Where You Are
We begin by exploring what you most desire in the areas of intimacy and relationships. What do you want most? What would feel nourishing and alive? Your desires become our compass, pointing us toward what's possible for you.
Then we gently investigate the dynamics, patterns, and beliefs that have kept you from experiencing what you long for. This isn't about blame or judgment - it's about understanding. Often, the patterns that feel limiting now were once protective. They helped you survive difficult circumstances or navigate relationships when you didn't have other tools available.
Through this exploration, you'll begin to see yourself with greater clarity and compassion. You'll recognize that you're not broken - you're a human being who developed very intelligent coping strategies in response to your experiences. And now, as an adult, you have the opportunity to choose what still serves you and what you're ready to release.
The Path of Transformation
This work isn't about fixing what's broken. It's about uncovering the wholeness, beauty, and aliveness that already live within you - qualities that may have been covered over by life's heaviness, past experiences, or messages you internalized along the way.
Transformation happens through:
Awareness - Noticing what's actually happening in your body, emotions, and relationships without immediately trying to change it. This is where healing begins - in the simple act of seeing and acknowledging what is.
Integration - Bringing together the different parts of yourself with curiosity and love. When we can welcome all aspects of our experience, even the uncomfortable ones, we create space for genuine wholeness.
Embodiment - Moving from intellectual understanding into lived experience. This is where lasting change happens - not just knowing something in your mind, but feeling it in your body and expressing it in your life.
Practice - Engaging with concrete tools and practices that support your ongoing growth. These aren't just things we do in sessions - they're practices you take with you, weaving them into your daily life.
What Becomes Possible
Through our work together, clients often experience:
Healing from Sexual Shame and Pain - Moving through the shame, fear, guilt, or physical pain that may be keeping you from experiencing pleasure and connection. This includes addressing how past trauma, religious or cultural messages, or painful experiences have shaped your relationship with your sexuality.
Expanded Capacity for Pleasure - Reconnecting with your sexual energy and discovering that pleasure isn't just something that happens during sex - it's a quality of aliveness available to you throughout your day. Learning to invite pleasure into your body and your life.
Wholeness and Authenticity - Reclaiming a sense of yourself as whole, alive, and authentic. Coming home to who you truly are beneath the layers of conditioning and protection.
Emotional Freedom - Healing emotional wounds that have kept you from feeling safe, worthy, and capable of deep connection. Cultivating the capacity to feel your full range of emotions without being overwhelmed by them.
Release of Limiting Patterns - Recognizing and releasing the beliefs, behaviors, and patterns that no longer serve you. Stepping into alignment with your true desires and values.
Personal Power and Self-Love - Connecting with your inherent worth and power. Developing genuine self-love that isn't dependent on external validation or achievement.
Deeper Intimacy and Connection - Building the capacity for meaningful connection and intimacy in your relationships. Learning to be truly seen and to truly see your partner.
Thriving Across All Dimensions - Experiencing greater aliveness emotionally, physically, sexually, spiritually, and relationally. This work touches everything - because intimacy is woven through all aspects of our lives.
The Tools We Use
Depending on what serves your goals and feels right for you, we may work with:
Emotional Liberation Practices
Our emotions carry wisdom, and they also carry energy that needs to move through us. When emotions get stuck - often because we learned it wasn't safe to feel or express them - they can create blocks in our bodies and our relationships.
Emotional liberation practices help you:
Identify and name what you're actually feeling
Create safety to feel emotions fully in your body
Move through stuck emotional energy
Reclaim your full emotional range
Develop capacity to be with difficult emotions without being overwhelmed
This isn't about "letting it all out" or catharsis for its own sake. It's about developing a healthy relationship with your emotional experience - allowing feelings to arise, move through you, and complete their natural cycle.
Parts Work (Internal Family Systems)
We all have different parts of ourselves - protectors who try to keep us safe, wounded parts carrying pain from the past, parts that feel confident or scared or playful. Sometimes these parts are in conflict with each other, or certain parts have taken on roles that exhaust them.
Through parts work, we:
Explore the different aspects of yourself with curiosity and compassion
Understand what each part is trying to protect or accomplish
Help burdened parts release what they've been carrying
Bring your parts into greater harmony with each other
Connect with your essential Self - the centered, compassionate presence at your core
This approach recognizes that you're not one monolithic being - you're a beautifully complex system. When your parts feel heard and respected, they can relax into their natural roles, and you experience greater internal harmony and freedom.
Breathwork
Your breath is one of the most powerful tools you have for shifting your state, accessing deeper awareness, and creating change. Breath connects your conscious mind with your autonomic nervous system - the part of you that regulates stress, safety, and arousal.
Through breathwork, we:
Shift your nervous system from states of stress or shutdown into presence and aliveness
Access deeper layers of awareness and sensation in your body
Release tension, pain, or stuck energy
Expand your capacity to feel pleasure and connection
Move through emotional blocks and integrate new experiences
Different breathing patterns create different effects. Some calm and center you. Others energize and activate. Some help you access non-ordinary states of consciousness where deep healing can occur. I'll teach you practices that support your specific needs and goals.
Somatic Practices
Your body holds wisdom that your mind doesn't have access to. It also holds the imprints of your experiences - the protective tensions you developed, the places where pleasure got shut down, the memories stored in your tissues.
Somatic practices work with the wisdom of your body to:
Develop awareness of sensations, tensions, and aliveness in your body
Release protective patterns held in your musculature and nervous system
Heal through direct body experience rather than just talking about experiences
Expand your capacity to feel sensation and pleasure
Integrate new experiences at a body level so change is lasting
Develop presence and the ability to be fully here in your body
This might include gentle movement, mindful touch, body scanning, or practices that help you track sensation and develop your felt sense. The body has its own intelligence, and when we learn to listen, profound healing becomes possible.
Energy Work (Neo Tantra and Taoist Practices)
Beyond your physical body, you're also an energetic being. Ancient wisdom traditions from around the world have developed sophisticated practices for working with subtle energy - the life force that animates you.
Drawing from Neo Tantra and Taoist traditions, we explore:
Cultivating and circulating sexual energy through your body
Working with energy centers (chakras) to release blocks and enhance flow
Practices that expand your energetic capacity and sensitivity
Using breath, sound, movement, and intention to shift your energetic state
Connecting with the spiritual dimensions of sexuality and intimacy
These practices aren't about believing in any particular system - they're about direct experience. When you learn to work with your energy, you access dimensions of pleasure, connection, and aliveness that purely physical approaches can't reach.
Mindfulness and Presence Practices
So much of our suffering comes from living in our heads - replaying the past or worrying about the future. Presence practices help you arrive fully in the here and now, where life is actually happening.
We work with:
Developing awareness of your thoughts, emotions, and sensations as they arise
Cultivating the capacity to be with your experience without immediately trying to change it
Bringing mindful awareness into your intimate experiences
Practicing presence with yourself and with your partner
Learning to notice when you've left the present moment and how to return
Presence is the foundation for intimacy. When you can be fully here, you can actually meet yourself and your partner. You can experience the richness of each moment rather than missing your life while lost in thought.
How Sessions Work
Each session is tailored to you - where you are, what you need, and what you're ready to explore. This work honors your pace, your values, and your innate wisdom.
We might spend time in conversation, exploring patterns and gaining clarity. We might do experiential practices where you're directly engaging with breathwork, movement, or somatic exploration. We might work with parts of you that need attention and care. Often, sessions include a combination of these approaches.
Between sessions, I may suggest practices for you to explore on your own. These aren't homework assignments - they're invitations to continue the work of reconnecting with yourself and discovering what's possible.
What This Requires of You
This work asks something of you. It asks for:
Courage - To look at what's been difficult or painful. To try practices that might feel unfamiliar or vulnerable. To open yourself to the possibility that things can be different.
Commitment - Transformation doesn't happen in one session. It's a journey that unfolds over time as you practice, integrate, and discover new layers of yourself.
Curiosity - A willingness to explore with openness rather than already knowing how things should be. A gentle, investigative approach to your own experience.
Compassion - The capacity to meet yourself with kindness as you uncover painful places or recognize patterns you wish were different. This isn't about self-judgment - it's about self-love.
Honesty - Being truthful with yourself and with me about your experience. This work flourishes in authenticity.
My Commitment to You
I bring to this work:
Professional training and personal experience - My background as a nurse and midwife, my training in IFS and through Layla Martin's VITA program, and my own journey of transformation.
Deep respect for your process - This is your journey. I'm here as a guide and support, not to impose my beliefs or push you where you're not ready to go.
A trauma-informed approach - Understanding how trauma affects sexuality, relationships, and the nervous system, and working in ways that create safety and support healing.
Confidentiality and integrity - What we discuss stays between us. I hold your trust as sacred.
Ongoing growth - I'm committed to my own continued learning and development so I can serve you well.
Taking the First Step
If you're feeling called to this work, trust that. Your inner wisdom is pointing you toward something important.
You don't need to have everything figured out. You don't need to be "ready enough" or "healed enough" to start. You just need to take the first step - reaching out, having a conversation about what you're experiencing and what you're longing for.
From there, we'll discover together what's possible for you.
I would be honored to walk alongside you on this journey home to yourself.
